This lens works well as an all around portrait and also wildlife lens. The lens's unique feature is a macro mode. Once you are zoomed in all the way to 78mm and focused to the closest normal focusing distance of 2 meters you are able to pull the focus ring a little bit further in and turn it a little bit more.
