Ronin S gimbal with an A7SII dummy battery which means the gimbal and camera can be powered for over 4 hours.  

The Sony FS700 is a powerful camera suitable for cinematographic shoots. However, on our our second day of a one week shoot the camera malfunctioned due to an adaptor problem with the main V-battery. I initially decided not to rent extra batteries becaus he said his battery would keep it running for 12 hours (far more than we needed) and we were on a tight budget. However, because of this calamity, we were forced to use our personal DSLRs on that day. From there we managed to squeeze out just enough juice from the secondary battery to last us through the remaining shoots.

 The lender offered to give us his A7SII - for free - to replace the Sony FS700. This seemed reasonable, so we went for it. However, after filming week he decided instead to keep the money charged for the secondary camera despite knowing that - for a student production - this would cause us to go into the red with our budget. In return for what appeared to be his generosity, I offered to make a claim to return his service fee as well as make an insurance claim on some minor (wear-and-tear) damage on the camera's body.  However, he instead decided to use a paltry excuse to keep his earnings saying that "my patience was finally stretched too far by your bad manners" - which would be sensible, if had actually been bad mannered. However just moments before I had "Apologise[d] for any confusion" (as I didn't know the lender was also charged a service fee on top of my own) and said that I "Hope your wisdom tooth is no longer causing you trouble" as well as the above actions I was willing to take regarding insurance and service fees. 

To this affront I responded calmly "I promise I was not trying to be rude Donald, I was merely confused by how FatLama worked and thought we may have made a mistake with the calculation (hence why I apologised for the confusion). You then cleared it up for me and all seemed well again", only to be greeted by this patronizing line: "there's a good chance you are unaware of how or when you came across as bad-mannered, I'm afraid you might need your friends to help you understand this". I leave this conversation laid bare for the reader, but for these reasons I do not recommend using this lender.

Didn't use as I couldn't manually focus while using the Ronin.

Took a little time to get the hang of... but after a few hours getting to grips with it I was in my element and shot some stunning ( and very smooth ) video!

Nice lens, takes a little time to zoom in and out given that its mechanical and not manual. Auto-focus is great, fast and brilliant in low light.

Incredible piece of kit. Low light settings are phenomenal.
