The Zoom F8n Multi-Track Field Recorder is designed for professional and enthusiast recording applications on set and in the field, including music, filmmaking, and electronics news gathering (ENG). Designed to be carried by a shoulder strap or in a bag, the unit features eight analog input channels with XLR/TRS combo jacks that provide +75 dB maximum input gain, and support for line-level inputs. It can record up to 10 tracks simultaneously (channels 1 through 8 plus a stereo mix), or up to eight channels when recording at the A/D converter's maximum 24-bit 192 kHz resolution.

The DR-100mkIII from Tascam is a linear PCM recorder which supports 24-bit/192 kHz recording resolution and is able to record MP3 and WAV files—even at the same time, in dual-recording mode. A different dual-recording mode allows you to record a lower-level safety track in case the initial recording clips, and XRI mode will write the settings used to record the track within the file itself; recorder, mics, level, low-cut filter implementation, limiter, and pad will be represented therein, making your editor's or post-production engineer's life a lot easier.

The switchable low-cut filter adds additional wind and handling noise attenuation. The MKE 600 can be phantom powered or operated on an AA battery for about 150 hours. The rugged and all-metal housing means the microphone will function perfectly in outdoor recording situations.
