The EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Lens from Canon is a telephoto zoom lens ideal for day-to-day use because it is particularly light and compact, especially given its long focal reach.

These lenses have a great reputation for their cinematic tone as well as the Contax build and as a distant cousin of the hugely expensive and sought after modern Zeiss primes these are a great secondary option for someone looking for cinematic quality without a gaping chasm in their bank account afterwards.

Please note all of the lenses are fully manual meaning that aperture is mainly controlled on the lens, as well as focus. This is all clearly marked on the lens, with F-stops and focus points clearly denoted around their respective rings. 

The M42-Canon adapters are removable should you so wish.

Provides much faster aperture for low light usage and has better edge to edge sharpness.

The autofocus motor is fairly loud, so photography in especially quiet locations be prepared to get some looks from others. 

The wide aperture helps to get some really clear and rich shots in low light conditions (great for night street photgraphy), and the shallow depth of field gives a lovely background blur for portrait photography. 

Downside being a rather noisy autofocus - no good for shooting video with audio.
