A versatile microphone for digital cameras and camcorders alike. Just like its predecessors, there is an Output Selector for -10dB/ 0/ +10dB to fine tune your level. However with the MK200 you have the added help of a Peak Signal Indicator to warn you of too high a sound level for the chosen setting. As another improvement there are Dual Shock Mounts - one between the housing and mic components as before and also an additional mount between the housing and the mounting shoe. This virtually eliminates transmitted vibrations from motors such as zoom mechanisms and user handling. For particularly challenging conditions there is a Low Cut filter for removal of any rumbling noise. With Hotshoe mount plus 1/4” thread and 3.5mm audio plug. 

RODE NTG-2 Microphone and Boom Pole Kit

A fantastic little shotgun microphone perfect for mounting on camera for run and gun work or for Boom Pole work.

The Boom is 3m in length and very comfortable to hold. The microphone is held by elastic isolators which remove handling noise.

I have sample recordings with this set up if you would like to hear some prior to renting.

The NTG-2 can be phantom or battery powered.

The RØDE NTG2 is a lightweight condenser shotgun microphone, designed for professional applications. Its full frequency response, low noise and audio transparency make it an ideal film, video, and voice over microphone, while its low weight (161gm/5.7oz without battery) makes it an ideal boom microphone.
In addition to the native 20Hz-20kHz frequency response a selectable high-pass filter at 80Hz is available, which will prevent low end noise such as air conditioners and traffic from being recorded.
The NTG2 operates either from a AA (1.5V) battery or P48 phantom power which can be supplied by professional cameras, audio recorders and power supplies. The battery power option makes the NTG2 ideal for scenarios where the camera does not supply phantom power such as DSLR video.
