Current monitors force filmmaking compromises due to a lack of brightness & brightness range (dynamic range). Expose for highlights and lose shadow detail or shoot in Log with a flat, washed out image. Enter the Ninja Flame, a 7" AtomHDR 1500nit Field Monitor with 4K/HD 10-bit ProRes/DNx Recording over HDMI. With the AtomHDR engine, it has the brightness and dynamic range to show all the detail of HDR Log, at all brightness ranges, with natural, vibrant colors.

BURN AWAY THE FOG OF LOG

Camera Log (S-Log2, S-Log3, C-Log, V-Log etc) delivers maximum sensor detail in your recordings, but on monitors it looks washed out & makes judging exposure difficult. The compromise for filmmakers is to use LUT's to get the approximate "look" but sacrifice detail or use calibration cards, waveform & some “rule of thumb” figures to set exposure correctly. AtomHDR is the solution, accurately displaying HDR Log footage with the brightness to see Log as the eye sees it.

It adapts the floating lens system to find the minimum focus distance. There are 8 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when the aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully.

The Samyang 50mm T1.5 VDSLR manual focus lens can be used in cameras with image size up to Full Frame 35mm. Its Low T-number gives better light gathering power and greater choice when it comes to selecting depth of field. Its optical construction comprises 9 Elements in 6 Groups including a “H-ASP” Hybrid Aspherical and a Glass Aspherical (ASP) element. H-ASP gives exceptional reduction of chromatic aberration and great contrast levels right to the edge of the image, even at wide apertures. The optical surfaces have been treated with Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) to optimise light transmission as well as minimising ghosting and flare, working beneficially with the supplied petal lens hood. The optical arrangement also allows a close focusing of just 45cm.

For cinema use, Samyang VDSLR lenses have an uncoupled aperture and focus gear ring for smooth adjustment such as when using follow focus systems, and distance scale / T-markings are on both sides of the lens for easy reading while pulling focus.

Usability is ket to this lens and its body is constructed using a strong aluminium alloy and has an 8-Blade Circular Aperture for smooth and natural looking defocused areas to your images, often referred to as good “bokeh”.

All Samyang VDSLR lenses have the same colour balance and location of gearing teeth to provide consistency and ease of swapping when used as a system.

Offering a natural perspective along with a fast maximum aperture, the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM from Canon is a versatile normal-length prime characterized by its bright f/1.4 aperture to suit working in low-light conditions and for producing shallow depth of field imagery.
