The Fender Precision has made it into the hands of pretty much any famous bass guitarist at some point in their career (or all of it). This 1972 model is a perfect example. It bears some of the wear you'd expect from a well-played guitar, but it sounds massive, across the tonal range. Fully maintained and set up, and ready for you to hire.

This one has its distinctive chips and scratches, not many, and no more than you'd expect. Squier Vista Musicmaster Bass

Rare bass made in a short run by Squier in 1997. Great sounding short-scale that's really fun to play. Located within easy reach of many Dalston / Stoke Newington venues, really handy if you need a bass in a pinch, or if you need something reliable for recording/rehearshing. Mid-1980s, Made in Japan, warhorse of a bass. A few nicks in the finish—this is not a new bass, just a great one. Comes with gig bag that has shoulder straps (ie can be worn like a backpack).

Sturdy hard case for bass guitar. Lined with velvet and sponge. 4 clasps and one lock. suitable for flying. 

Beautiful Ibanez Artcore AGB200 Sunburst electric bass guitar with strap. Semi-hollow body. Lovely warm sound. 

A piece of history, a beauty to behold and play. 

The President Bass was built from 1963 to 1967. Hofner was as well-known for its basses as for its 6-strings, with bass versions of the Committee, Senator, Verythin and, of course, that now very famous Violin Bass all on offer at the same time as the President. 

This particular guitar was bought in auction. It had seen some action and then some neglect. The nut had broken off below the G-string, replaced by a nail; the D-tuner had been bent sideways into the headstock; and the pick-ups were producing as much output as a crackly crystal radio set (older generation reference).  So, this became a bit of a project. 

Cleaned up, rather than refinished, to keep that lovely depth and patina; reset the tuner, to retain the original; replaced the nut with an aged Hofner 3-ply nut; and hand-rewound the pick-ups. Added to that, a new custom-case . . . there's no off-the-shelf case that can take the length and depth of this beauty.  All in all probably more cost than its remaining market value. But what a piece of history. 

And what a pleasure to play - the "slenda-nek", the easily accessed 24 frets, and the huge warm tone of those Novasonic humbuckers. Close your eyes, and turn back the years.

This bass has been on tour with me round most of Europe. Now happy to share with whoever needs a great punchy bass. It’s an original 1980’s Fender Jazz Bass with added Di Marzio pickups. Slightly customised as you can see. Fender logo been covered ever since using it on TV shows, the sticker looks quite cool hence the decision of leaving it there.
