The Neumann U87 is arguably the best known and most widely used studio microphone. It is a very versatile microphone, but its most popular use is for speech and vocals.

It is equipped with a large dual-diaphragm capsule with three directional patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8. These are selectable with a switch below the headgrille. A 10dB attenuation switch is located on the rear. It enables the microphone to handle sound pressure levels up to 127 dB without distortion. The AKG C414 XL II large diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphones is the latest iteration of the famous C414 line of microphones. The C414 XLII version differs from the C414 XLS version in one major respect – the capsule. The C414 XLII's slight presence boost and impressive spatial reproduction are both similar to the legendary AKG C12 microphone from 1953. This characteristic response and spatial detailing makes lead vocals and solo instruments stand out, even in a dense mix. One of the most outstanding things about the Shure SM58 is that you can stick one in front of any kind of vocalist (and most instruments, for that matter) and get excellent results. The secret to the SM58's sound is its critically tuned frequency response, which cuts out low-end rumble and adds a noticeable rise in the upper-mid frequencies. Available as Certified Match Pair.         The NT5 is RØDE's premier small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone, sometimes referred to as a 'pencil mic'.
Intended for recording acoustic instruments, drum overheads, cymbals and live performances, the compact externally polarized mic employs a 1/2" capsule, an active J-FET impedance converter with bipolar output buffer.
Its tight cardioid pickup pattern also makes it ideal for use as an indoor dialogue microphone for filmmaking on a mic stand or boom.
Expanding the NT5's versatility, an interchangeable omnidirectional capsule (NT45-O) is available.
Finished in durable satin nickel, the NT5 available as a single microphone or as an acoustically matched pair.
The NT5 is designed and made in Australia.

Neuman, the designer behind some of the worlds best microphones, brought out the KMS105 in 1999 as a vocal microphone for the stage. A tight polar pattern and some cleverness or quirk in the design make it weirdly good at resisting feedback for a condenser. This seems to be a pretty early model- and it's got a darkness to it also uncharacteristic of condenser mics- which I love. There is a smoothness across the whole spectrum even well into the highs. It does however retain its condenser sensitivity which makes it great for picking out all the detail in a subtle vocal performance, guitar part or a string line; and adding a ton of character to it.

The classic multi-patterned, large condensor workhorse. The AKG 414 is great on just about any instrument. Seen in probably every good recording studio in the world, the XLII is even better than other 414's with a slight lift In the 2-4k area for a crisp and clear Vocal. I've had this mic for 2 years now and its in perfect condition. Comes with an AKG shockmount, solid AKG box and popshield if you need one.
