The RØDE M3 is a highly versatile end-address condenser microphone, designed to be completely at home in the studio, on stage or on location. It is equally suitable as an instrument microphone for guitars, drums and percussion or even vocals.
Featuring a heavy duty metal body and internally shock mounted 1/2" condenser capsule mounted for end-address, the M3 can be powered either via P48 phantom power, or an internal 9V battery.
A -10dB and -20dB level attenuator (pad), selectable from inside the battery compartment, allows recording of loud sound sources, such as a guitar amplifier or snare drum. The AKG C414 XL II large diaphragm multi-pattern condenser microphones is the latest iteration of the famous C414 line of microphones. The C414 XLII version differs from the C414 XLS version in one major respect – the capsule. The Neumann U87 is arguably the best known and most widely used studio microphone. It is a very versatile microphone, but its most popular use is for speech and vocals.

It is equipped with a large dual-diaphragm capsule with three directional patterns: omnidirectional, cardioid and figure-8. These are selectable with a switch below the headgrille. A 10dB attenuation switch is located on the rear. It enables the microphone to handle sound pressure levels up to 127 dB without distortion. Furthermore, the low frequency response can be reduced to compensate for proximity effect by engaging the high-pass filter switch.
