The 50mm T1.5 VDSLR AS UMC Lens for Canon EF Mount from Samyang is a fast, manual focus, prime lens. It provides a maximum aperture of T1.5 for effective low light capture and shallow depth of field control and an 8 blade iris for attractive bokeh. Optimized for cinema and video applications, the focus and aperture control rings are outfitted with industry standard gearing, which provides an interface for working with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has also been de-clicked, which enables smooth iris pulls. In addition, bright aperture and distance markings are printed on the lens barrel facing laterally to facilitate easier control by a focus puller.

You may change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the uncoupled aperture gear rings. Also, distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.

Optical Features
Samyang 50mm T1.5 AS UMC is a manual focus lens with a low T number. You may control the lens precisely when shooting under various exposure environment including relatively dark or too bright situations. This lens features 9 lenses in 6 groups including 1 glass aspherical lens (ASP), and 1 hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP) to offer high resolution. Especially, H-ASP minimizes color aberration to realize exceptional image quality and high contrast for center and corner of image even when aperture is fully opened. Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) technology of Samyang Optics optimizes the light penetration and minimizes flare and ghost. With such optical construction, it has 0.45m of minimum focal length to take photos of subjects in near distance.

There are 8 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully. The frame of the lens is compact and solid since it is made of high-strength aluminum alloy so you can create trustworthy images. The Samyang 14mm T3.1 Cine Lens for Canon EF-Mount is optimized for film and video applications. Samyang 85mm T1.5 VDSLR AS IF UMC II is carefully designed for professional film and video works so the focus gear ring is installed for follow focus system. You may change the aperture quietly and smoothly with the uncoupled aperture gear ring. Also, distance scale and T numbers are marked on both sides of the lens for convenience.

Optical Features
As Samyang 85mm photo lens does, this VDSLR lens also has an outstanding optical function. Optical lenses feature 9 lenses in 7 groups. Hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP) has a specially designed curved surface to minimize color aberration and realize exceptional image quality and high contrast throughout center to corner of image even when aperture is fully opened. Samyang 85mm T1.5 II is an inner focus lens. The length of lens does not change when focusing so it is dustproof. Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) technology of Samyang Optics optimizes the light penetration and minimizes flare and ghost. There are 8 aperture blades designed to be almost as a full circle when aperture is closed which expresses starlike ray clearly and beautifully.

The frame of the lens is compact and solid since it is made of high-strength aluminum alloy so trustworthy images can be captured even under inferior environment.
