1971 model.The concept of Italian styling coupled with American V8 horsepower was well established by the late 1960s, and no doubt influenced AC Cars decision to reconfigure its fire-breathing Cobra sport scar as a luxury Grand Routier.A Cobra Mk III coil-suspended chassis was extended by 6inches in the wheelbase and dispatched to Italy to be clothed in elegant steel coachwork by Pietro Frua, the result looking not unlike the latter Maserati Mistral. The Series 3 Spider underwent a major styling revamp in 1983, which saw the introduction of black rubber front and rear bumpers. The front bumper incorporated the grille and a small soft rubber spoiler was added to the trunk lid. Following the end of World War II, Alvis quickly re-emerged with a revised range of passenger cars. They had been kept busy building military vehicles during the war so were able to revert to peacetime products quite quickly. As with most other manufacturers, there was no time or money to develop new lines, therefore the new TA14 was really a freshened-up pre-war version of the 12/70 which had been introduced in 1938, the most obvious difference being the adoption of steel disc wheels in place of wires.

Airstream is an American brand of caravans which are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded and polished aluminum coachwork. This body shape dates back to the 1930s and is based on designs created by Hawley Bowlus. Airstream trailers and recreational vehicles are manufactured in Jackson Center, Ohio. The company, now a division of Thor Industries, employs more than 800 people, and is the oldest in the industry.

Airstreamers are a group who share a community spirit because of their common love of the trailers. In the early 1950s, Airstream company founder Wally Byam began leading groups of owners on travels to many parts of the world, where the towed trailers were quite a remarkable sight. Photos taken of the trailers in front of many famous tourist sites were common. This promoted a mystique which surrounded Airstreams and persists to this day.

This Airstream was owned by an interior designer and as such this iconic American classic has a minimalistic feel combined with a retro, contemporary design and it really does take glamping to a different level. 

The DB9 was the star of the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show where it was unveiled to the public for the very first time. This car, perhaps above any other modern Aston Martin, recaptured the imagination and spearheaded the resurgence of the British car brand. The sleek superform aluminium body was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. Powered by the familiar and fabulous 6.0 litre V12 engine, the Coupé was capable of a top speed of 186mph and boasted 450 bhp.

The DB9 body shell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but had doubled its torsional rigidity and engineering accuracy; this ensured the chassis performance matched the engine power. Aston Martin have always made the interior of their cars a very special place to be and the DB9 was no exception. The interior was beautifully tailored with the finest of materials, including Bridge of Weir leather, aluminium and wood, with customers being offered a choice of a walnut, mahogany or bamboo finish.

This DB9 was first registered on 24th March 2005 and has the Grigio Titanio Silver with Obsidian leather interior trim; some would say this is the very best combination for the DB9.

Classic British motorcycle. The Square Four is a motorcycle produced by Ariel between 1931 and 1959. The early engine with "two transverse crankshafts" was essentially a pair of 'across frame' OHC parallel twins joined by their geared central flywheels, with a four-cylinder block (or Monobloc) and single head. The idea for the engine was rejected by BSA, but adopted by Ariel. Thus it became the Ariel Square Four. In 1953, the 'four pipe' 997 cc Ariel Square Four Mk II was released, with separate barrels, a re-designed cylinder head with four separate exhaust pipes from two cast-aluminium manifolds and a rocker-box combined with the inlet manifold. A redesigned frame provided clearance for the high-mounted, tall, car-type, SU carburettor. This 40 hp (30 kW) Square Four was capable of 100 mph (160 km/h). It weighed425 lb (193 kg) and cost £336.16.6.In 1954, Ariel built prototypes of a Mk3 with Earles forks, but the model was never put into production.In 1959, Square Four production, along with that of all other Ariel four-stroke models, ceased.

The Aston Martin DB7 is a grand tourer which was produced by Aston Martin from September 1994 to December 2004. The grand tourer was available either as a coupe or a convertible. The prototype was complete by November 1992, and debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March, 1993, the car was styled by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet. The six-cylinder DB7 (based on the Jaguar non-supercharged engine AJ6) was positioned as an "entry-level" model below the hand-built V8 Virage introduced a few years earlier. This model was the highest production Aston Martin vehicle ever, with more than 7,000 built before it was replaced by the DB9.

In 1937, the Lagonda 4.5 -Litre reached its final and most refined development. The LG6 and its stablemate, the Lagonda V12, were launched at the London Motor Show of that year and entered production at the beginning of 1938. The chassis was a completely new design by W.O. Produced in Surrey between 1947 and 1956, only 1,284 AC Two-Litre, four-door saloons were ever produced and even fewer drophead coups and tourers made the production line. the AC 1991cc engine was the first offered by the company in the AC 16 in 1922 however, by 1947, the engine boasted a power output of 74bhp and increased again in 1951 to 85bhp, more than twice claimed for the engines original application.

An aluminium paneled body on a wood frame was fitted to a conventional steel chassis with rigid axles front and rear and semielliptic leaf springs. For the first time on an AC, hydraulic dampers were used and, until 1951, the car had a hybrid braking system; hydraulic at the front and cable at the rear. In 1948, a two-door saloon car costing one thousand and two hundred and seventy seven pounds was tested by The Motor magazine achieving a top speed of 80mph and could accelerate from 0-60mph in 19.9 seconds.

For those who considered the appearance of the standard model too conservative, Aston Martin offered a Tickford conversion, which took its name from the factorys in-house coachbuilder (actually Salmons & Sons) that had been absorbed in 1955. This is my second one!

Aston Martin's periodic revival of the Lagonda name saw it applied to a stretched, four-door AM V8 in the mid 1970s, a mere handful of which was constructed. When the concept re-emerged, it was the sensation of the 1976 London Motor Show. Clothed in striking 'razor edge' bodywork by William Towns, the new Lagonda saloon used the same long-wheelbase V8 chassis as its immediate predecessor, while breaking new ground in terms of electronic instrumentation and switchgear. Problems with the latter would delay production until April 1978, by which time a less radical design had been adopted.

The Lagonda was the first production car in the world to use computer management, a digital instrument panel, and second series cathode ray tubes for the instrumentation. It combined striking styling with an opulent, 'members club' leather interior, and with its state-of-the-art dashboard was a veritable spaceship. Coupled to a Chrysler 3-speed "TorqueFlite" automatic transmission, its quad-cam carbureted V8 could provide massive linear thrust when required. The later Series 3 and all Series 4 models were fuel injected.William Towns returned to AML briefly to give the Lagonda a 'makeover' in order to get just a few more sales out of the old girl before she was honourably retired, and the resulting Series 4 facelift was revealed in 1987. The lines were softened, the pop-up headlights were ditched, six fixed headlamps replaced the driving lamps, and the waist level trim was lost, but mostly, the sharp angularity had gone. 106 Series 4 cars were built before production ended in 1990 with our Lagonda being the 11th of only 34 that were right-hand drive.

This Lagonda Rapier started life as axed-head coupe bodied by Abbott of Farnham, this being the most popular body style fitted to the model in 1934. In 1997 and it was bought by a Mr Reinhard List of Edlitz, Austria. He converted the coachwork to single-seater conguration and painted the car green, as it is today. The Lagonda raced at several events in Austria including on the Salzburgring and at the Gaisbergrennen hill climb. Restored during 2003/2004, the car conforms to the VSCC Eligibility Regulations currently in force.

'Brutal' was a word used more than once to described the fastest Aston Martin ever on its introduction in 1993, but as the Vantage had no less than 550bhp available to propel its two tons, the choice can only be judged fair comment. After almost 20 years in production, Aston's V8 had been updated for the 1990s as the Virage, body design being entrusted to Royal College of Art tutors Ken Greenley and John He ernan. A consummate fast tourer, the Virage left room at the top of the range for an out-and-out sportscar, hence the Vantage. Although the two models appear superficially similar, few panels were shared and beneath the skin the Vantage chassis boasted the kind of extensive re-engineering required to cope with the massive increase in performance. The latter came courtesy of a blown version of Aston's 5,340cc V8, twin mechanically driven Eaton superchargers being preferred to turbo-charging on the grounds of superior throttle response. Quite apart from its stupendous maximum output, remarkable enough in itself, the engine was monstrously torque, producing 550lb/ft at 4,000rpm, a figure that made even the mighty Chrysler Viper V10's 450lb/ft seem puny by way of comparison and the ZF manual gearbox's six-speeds an unnecessary luxury.

The Vanquish debuted at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2001, with deliveries commencing a few months later. The Vanquish took over from the Vantage V8, the Newport Pagnell factory undergoing an extensive multi-million pound refurbishment to accommodate it, gaining a new assembly line, paint shop, rolling road and water test facility. The Virage Volante offered here features the popular 'wide body' specification that originated on the 6.3-litre version of the Virage, which was announced by Aston Martin as an interim model ahead of the company's forthcoming twin-supercharged Vantage. With the introduction of the Vantage Zagato in 1986, Aston Martin renewed its association with one of Italy's most illustrious carrozzeira, Zagato, having been responsible for that most celebrated and desirable of all post-war Aston Martins, the DB4GT. Neighbouring stands at the 1984 Geneva Salon facilitated the initial contact between Aston boss Victor Gauntlett and the Zagato brothers and by the following year, the project had progressed ciently for Aston to accept deposits on the 50 production cars planned. The first prototype was shown to the public in Geneva in March 1986 and in June, successfully met its design target by achieving a maximum speed of 186mph while on test with the French magazine Sport Auto. This Austin Seven racer was built by Marcus Chambers in the early 1930s from the burnt out remains of the Boyd Carpenter Special. Marcus Chambers, together with Peter Clark, raced an HRG at Le Mans in 1937 and 1939 under the team name curie Lapin Blanc (Team White Rabbit). Their mascot was a stued turtle shell that Peter Clarke had brought back with him from the West Indies following a family holiday. Someone then painted a white rabbit logo on the shell and this became the teams mascot (a replica of this is place just in front of the drivers seat). After the war Marcus was lured back to HRG, serving as their race team manager from 1948 to 1953 when joined the BMC competitions department.

In 2005, Audi released the Coupe-only limited edition (800 sold in the UK, not the 1000 originally planned) Audi TT quattro Sport (known as the Audi TT Club Sport in Europe). In August 2004, Audi announced that the next generation TT will be made of luminium, and would go into production in 2007. A preview of the second-generation TT was provided in the form of the Audi Shooting Brake concept car, shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2005. This concept was an insight into the new TT, but featured angular styling, and a "shooting brake" two-door hatchback body style.

Descended from the A40 Devon, and one of the most readily recognised shapes of the 1950s, the Austin A40 Somerset was built between 1952 and 1954, during which time over 173,000 saloons and convertibles were produced. Mechanically almost identical to its predecessor but now with fully hydraulic brakes, the Somerset retained a separate chassis beneath its restyled four-door exterior. Suspension was independent at the front by wishbones and coil springs, with a semi-elliptically-sprung live axle at the rear. The 1,200cc A-Series engine drove via a four-speed column-change gearbox, and with 42bhp on tap the Somerset could better 60mph. Leather upholstery was a feature of the interior, and the separate front seats could be arranged as a bench to accommodate three up front. In addition, there was provision for the fitting of a heater and radio, which were listed as extras, this example having the former.

The A40 Somerset was produced from 1952 until 1954. It replaced the A40 Devon and was quite similar to that body-on-frame car, including using the same 1.2 litre, four-cylinder pushrod engine. The engine was updated to produce 42hp however, giving the car a top speed of 69mph.

This charming righthand drive A50 Cambridge from 1956 was resident of IADS Malaysian Airbase (Integrated Air Defence System) until spotted by RAF serviceman, Flight Sergeant Stephen Pollitt, who was also based in Malaysia and saved the car for Britain. It was repatriated home in 2000 from the airbase where this car is understood to have lived a charmed life ferrying pilots and servicemen to their aircraft and, in doing so, accumulated just 5,000 miles from new. Whilst we regret it's impossible to warrant this figure, it is plausible that the condition of the car is commensurate with this mileage.

The Austin-Healey Sprite was announced to the press in Monte Carlo on 20th May 1958, just before the Monaco Grand Prix. It was intended to be a low-cost model that 'a chap could keep in his bike shed' and yet be the successor to the sporting versions of the pre-war Austin Seven. The little Sprite quickly became affectionately known as the 'Frog Eye' in the UK and the 'Bug Eye' in the US as its headlights were prominently mounted on top of the bonnet, inboard of the front wings. There were no exterior door handles; the driver and passenger were required to reach inside to open the door. There was also no boot lid and access to the spare wheel and luggage compartment was achieved by tilting the seat-backs forward and reaching under the rear deck.

With Austin and Morris both being part of BMC, the Minor-based Morris commercials were also marketed as the Austin 6cwt and Austin 8cwt with a closed van and open pick-up version of the Minor being built from 1953 until the end of production in 1973. They were designed for commercial use with small businesses in mind, although many made their way to larger corporations. The van version was popular with the Post Office with the early version of these (to around 1956) having rubber front wings, to cope with the sometimes unforgiving busy situations in which they were expected to work. Both the van and the pick-up differed from the monocoque construction of the Saloon and Traveller variant by having a separate chassis. They also differed in details such as telescopic rear dampers, stiffer rear leaf springs and lower-ratio differentials to cope with the heavier loads.

The Bentley Arnage was a large luxury car produced by Bentley Motors in Crewe, England from 1998 to 2009. The Arnage, and its Rolls-Royce-branded sibling, the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998, and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980. The revised version of the car was launched as the Arnage Red Label in October 1999. At the same time, but without the fanfare, Bentley made several minor modifications to the original BMW engined cars, and designated them as the "Arnage Green Label" for the 2000 model year.

All Bamby cars were three-wheelers with the single wheel at the rear. On the later models such as this, the brakes were hydraulic and two headlamps fitted replacing the single unit on early Bambys. The model was exhibited at the Ideal Home Exhibition of 1984, meeting with overall public approval but few were made and the final Bamby left the factory within a few months. This Bamby was registered on 26th, September 1984 and has only covered 2,613 miles from new. These are unusual vehicles bearing a strong resemblance to the Peel P50. With production of the Bamby in very low numbers (thought to be around 25 units), these are very rare and collectable microcars.

The Zagato Zele was a small electric car built by the famed Italian design house Zagato of Milan who were better known for designing some of the most exotic and beautiful cars available for marques such as Aston Martin, Lancia and Alfa Romeo. In 1974 Zele 1000 arrived into the UK from Italy.The Zele originally ran with a four speed controller but has since been fitted with a much more up to date power control unit with single speed, however, all the original controls and electrics remain in place so the vehicle presents as it would have when it left Zagato. It is thought that this is one of just two now known currently in the UK and is presented in its correct colour of orange, one of seven colours originally available, with contrasting black interior.

Wolseley Motors Limited was a British motor vehicle manufacturer founded in early 1901 by the Vickers armaments combine in conjunction with Herbert Austin. It initially made a full range topped by large luxury cars and dominated the market. In 1921, expanding rapidly, it manufactured 12,000 cars and still continued to be the biggest motor manufacturer in Britain. Over-expansion led to receivership in 1927 when it was bought from Vickers by William Morris as a personal investment and years later moved into his Morris Motors empire. Based on the Yamaha Virago 535 engine, the XVS650 (named V Star in USA) cylinders were bored an additional 5 mm to 81 mm and stroked 4 mm more to 63 mm, to net a displacement of 649 cc. The XVS650 comes in two models: the Custom with a lower seat height 695 mm (27.4 in) and slightly less weight, and the Classic with a higher seat height of 708 mm (27.9 in). The Custom is approximately 232 kg (511 lb) and the Classic approximately 15 kg heavier 247 kg (545 lb). The Yamaha XVS650 is sold in the U.S. as the entry-level versions of the V-Star line. That line was offered from 1998 to 2008 in two different versions: the Classic and the Silverado. Both versions are built around the same 649 cc v-twin engine. In time for the year's most eagerly awaited Motor show, the British sports car specialist teamed up with fabled Italian coachbuilder, Zagato, to create the all new AC 378 GT Zagato. the pre-production prototype Geneva 2012 show car, which was famously late for its unveiling having been held at customs, has been owned and cared for since by Brooklands Motor Company and AC Heritage, a custodian of the old AC workshops at the Brooklands Motor Museum, AC Specialists and its spiritual home. Having been used sparingly at shows and press-calls, the AC 378 GT Zagato is presented as it was on the AC stands in 2012. A truly unique example steeped in British motoring history despite being a truly modern supercar, this example presented in metallic blue with contrasting grey/black interior coupled with a 6.2 litre, V8 is a fully registered roadworthy example and can be seen gracing the road and track at the Double Twelve motor show 2015.

Arnage T Muliner 2005 Model. The Arnage T, from 2002, was claimed to be the most powerful road going Bentley at its launch at the Detroit Motor Show. As with the Arnage R, there were twin-turbochargers, but tuned to develop 465 metric horsepower (342 kW; 459 bhp) and 875 newton metres (645 ft lbf). The Arnage T\'s 0 to 60 mph time is 5.5 seconds; a top speed of 170 miles per hour (274 km/h) is claimed. All Arnage R and T models share the same 3,116 millimetres (122.7 in) wheelbase. The Arnage range was facelifted in 2005, with a front end resembling that of the new Continental GT.

VW Beetle Derivative.The Type 34 was built from September 1961 through to July 1969 and was the flagship model of the entire VW line up in the 60s. It was the most expensive VW available, the fastest, and the most luxurious. It was fitted with such standard amenities as fog lights, cigar lighter, electric clock, locking steering column, front & rear vent windows, variable wiper controls, and a luxurious interior. It also had the distinction of being the only VW fitted with built in fog lights and to have the option of an electrically operated steel sliding sunroof. Manufactured with a beautifully hand-crafted body on a standard Type III chassis and running gear, it shared the same engine and transmission, suspension and frame, making it easy to service and maintain. There is only one Type 34 with a lower mileage than this and it sits in the Volkswagen Museum and therefore will never be for sale.

As a German built Iconic peoples car, the story of the Beetle is well known; it was initially designed to provide cheap transport for the hard working German masses. Built in very small numbers before and during World War II, the Beetle literally rose from the ashes of Volkswagen's bombed-out Wolfsburg factory to become an instant success in Europe, Britain, America and virtually every other country in the world. The model evolved through various facelifts and numerous mechanical changes - there were more than 70,000 identifiable modifications during its production life - and it also provided a platform for other models, including commercial vehicles and sporting derivatives such as those by Karmann-Ghia. It was this constant development and attention to detail that allowed production of the Beetle to race past the 15,000,000 mark, earning it the title of the best-selling car of all time. Though launched at the Geneva Salon of 1991, many elements of the John Heffernan/Ken Greenley-penned Continental R had been seen at the same event as far back as 1984, when Bentley unveiled their `Project 90' concept car; a suitably enthusiastic reception leading the company to develop the car for production. Clearly the Sultan of Brunei approved of the end result, as he bought the 1991 show car at the exhibition. The new car was based on the Turbo R floor-pan and powered by that model's 6.75-litre turbocharged V8 engine, which was believed (the Rolls-Royce/Bentley company of the day never quoted horsepower figures) to produce in the region of 325bhp. Whatever, it was sufficient to give a top speed of some 145mph and a 0-60mph acceleration time of around 6.6 seconds - no mean performance for a car weighing in at some 2.5 tons and the best of any Bentley in its day. The engine drove through the then new 4-speed GM 4L80-E transmission. Unlike all other Bentleys since the S3 of 1965, its body was unique to the marque and not shared with any model of Rolls-Royce. The Continental R was produced from 1991 to 2003, during which time some 1,290 examples were made.

The classic Volkswagen Beetle is probably one of the most recognised cars in the world; however, in 1994, Volkswagen produced a design to bring the Beetle into the modern era. A retro themed concept was first shown at the North American Auto Show in 1994 and a further developed car appeared at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995. Vespa is an Italian brand of scooter manufactured by Piaggio. The name means wasp in Italian. The Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. The Hustler was a Mini-based project designed in 1978 by Aston Martin Lagonda designer William Towns and later developed into a kit car by his Interstyle design studio. The original version used upper and lower square-section steel frames, clad with glass fibre panels and large flat glass windows. On most models sliding side windows acted as doors. It used the front and rear sub frames and mechanical components from the British Leyland Mini, Metro or BMC1100/1300. The Hustler came in four and six wheel versions: the six wheel version used two Mini rear sub frame assemblies. The style was very much off-road/utility in the rectilinear idiom of the Lagonda and Bulldog. At the 1981 Early's Court Motor Show, a wooden version was introduced, using marine plywood and solid wood as both structure and body. Shortly afterwards, a sportier version was also introduced, using the same lower steel structure but with an upper structure with less height. An open-topped version, the Sport, was introduced at about the same time. The vehicle kits were sold directly from William Towns\\\\\\\' home at Stretton-on-Fosse, near Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, where his design studio was based.About 500 were made.

The Velocette Thruxton was a sporting motorcycle produced by Velocette between 1965 and 1971. Revealed at the 1964 Earls Court Show, it was the final development of Velocette's antiquated pushrod single, the Venom. Sometimes referred to as the Venom Thruxton or simply Thruxton, some surviving examples could be 'upgraded' replicas based on the Venom or Viper, as many parts in the range were interchangeable. Due to the high values involved and possibility of fakes, a register was established by a member of the Velocette Owners Club, using production data of engine and frame numbers acquired after the factory closure, to enable owners and potential buyers to confirm provenance when selling and buying. The Thruxton ceased production only when the company folded in 1971.

Launched in 1948, as the ‘motorcycle for everyman, the Velocette LE addressed the criticisms most often levelled at motorcycles - that they were noisy, dirty and needed special clothing to ride - achieving impressive levels of silence, comfort and practicality. Sadly for the LE, its arrival coincided with the start of the scooter boom; asked to compete against Italian style, Velocette ugly duckling never stood a chance, even after the sidevalve flat twin performance had been boosted by a capacity increase from 149 to 192cc in 1950. It was however, a big success with police forces - for whom its attributes were more important than its appearance - gaining the soubriquet ‘Noddy Bike as a result.

The Vauxhall 25 HP G-Series was introduced in August 1936 and produced until 1939 There were two wheelbase lengths: Model GY with 9 ft 2½- in for Saloon, Sports Saloon and Drophead Coupe and Model GL with 10ft 10in for Seven-Seater Saloon and Limousine.
These cars had a 3215-cc OHV six-cylinder engine, giving a maximum speed of 80 mph. Standard equipment included a heater. 1936/37 models had a clutch operated starter. Vauxhall motor company was origionaly set up in 1857 by Alexander Wilson (as Alexander Wilson & Co, Engineers) in the Vauxhall Iron Works in Wandsworth Road. He manufactured marine engines and other engineering items and took the Fulk's grin as his company badge.
He had left the company by 1894 and in 1897 the company's name was changed to the Vauxhall Iron Works Co Ltd. The company expanded into a number of premises in the Vauxhall area.
The main factory was on what is now the Sainsbury's petrol station on Wandsworth Road opposite the end of Wyvil Street. Panel beating took place in what became the Myers bed factory in Tyers Street but the need for more working space caused the company to move to Luton in 1905.

Vauxhall, the innovative British manufacturer that brought us such automotive gems as the 30/98, lost its independence to the mighty General Motors in 1925. The Bentley Continental R was launched at the Geneva motor show in 1991 and the styling of the handsome new coupe harked back to elegant lines of the S -Series Continental coupes produced by Bentley Motors throughout the 50's and 60's. The turbocharged 6.75 litre, V8 engine was utilized and internally the car was similar to the Turbo R saloon. Introduced in 1989, the Bentley Continental T brought sportier handling and higher power to the Continental range. It has a 4" shorter wheelbase than a Continental R, has flared wheel arches accommodating the 18" five spoke alloy wheels and a more powerful 420bhp, V8 power unit. To be expected, performance was very impressive with the big Bentley, reaching 60mph in less than six seconds and a top speed of almost 170mph.

In 1959 the Trojan (automobile) company was bought by Peter Agg and from 1960 to 1965 they built Heinkel bubble cars under licence selling them as the Trojan 200, the last vehicle to bear the Trojan name. The company acquired the rights to build the Elva Courier sports car in 1962, producing 210 cars between 1962 and 1965 when production switched from road cars to the Mclaren-Elva racing car.
The Trojan company was founded by Leslie Hayward Hounseld in 1914 based in Clapham London. He had the idea of making a simple, economical car that would be easy to drive.
It had a two-stroke engine with four cylinders arranged in pairs, "split-single" engine. The claim was that each engine had only seven moving parts, four pistons, two connecting rods and a crankshaft. This was connected to a two-speed epicyclic gearbox, to simplify gear changing, and a chain to the rear wheels. Solid tyres were used, even though these were antiquated for car use, to prevent punctures and very long springs used to give some comfort.

The Triumph Vitesse is a compact six-cylinder car built by Standard-Triumph from May 1962 to July 1971. The car was styled by Giovanni Michelotti, and was available in saloon and convertible variants. 

The Vitesse name was first used by Austin on their 1914-16 Austin 20 (hp) and 30 (hp) Vitesse models, this was followed in 1922 by G. N.(Godfrey & Nash) on their GN Vitesse Cyclecar, and then by Triumph on a car made between 1936 and 1938. 

After the last Triumph Vitesse was made in July 1971, the name remained unused until October 1982, when Rover used it on their SD1 until 1986, and one final time on their Rover 800, 820 and 827 models from October 1988 to 1991, at which time that car was rebodied as the R17 version, which was produced until 1998 as the Rover Vitesse Sport.

Launched in 1962, the Bentley S3 and its Rolls-Royce equivalent, the Silver Cloud III, employed the 6.2-litre aluminium alloy V8 engine introduced on the S2, though with larger carburettors, a new distributor, raised compression ratio, and came with a four-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. Most obvious changes from the S2 were the adoption of a four-headlamp arrangement, the absence of side-lights from the wing tops, and a slightly lower radiator shell. Inside, there was revised accommodation with separate front seats and increased room for rear passengers.

Like the Triumph 2000 it was developed from, the Stag was styled by Italian maestro Giovanni Michelotti and featured the monocoque construction, independent suspension, disc/drum brakes, power-assisted rack, and also the pinion steering and driveline of that saloon. The power plant, though, was an all-new OHC, V8 of 3000cc capacity fed by a pair of Stromberg carburettors and the newcomer received a warm reception at the time of launch in 1970. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox, as indeed is this one with electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes fitted as standard.

1964 Renault R8 
This car is one of only 4600 nos ever made in France with high standard manufacturing.  This wonderful Renault 8 Major is in very original condition with all exclusive parts. and running well.  Has MOT till June 2018.  The car has benefitted from a recent flurry of work including all new EBC brake pads, all four brake callipers rebuilt with original parts and an original new master cylinder.  The starter motor is completely rebuilt.  New seats made with the original high standard in B-Trim. The interior has been refurbished and the exterior has received a full respray. The car benefits from the original automatic choke and pressurised cooling system and is showing a mere 23,200kms on the odometer. A truly lovely example of this chic French saloon.

The 500 is the pinnacle of classic Italian styling and as per usual with these things there is not a bad angle to be found. Practical, stylish and easy to use. 

This was THE must have family vehicle in 60's Italy and the amount built is a testament to it's brilliance. (3 million plus) So popular was this luscious little Italian the Brits wanted them too. Not many survive in the UK But our car (called Monty) is in great condition and she photographs brilliantly. 

The previous owner of the vehicle said that "When you jump in this car, you feel the whole world is smiling at you". I quite agree...
