On its introduction in late 1963, the Rover 2000 was regarded with disbelief. Apart from its amazing looks, it was technically innovative with a De Dion Tube, inboard discs, full synchromesh gearbox and 'unibody' construction and was unlike anything else, apart from the Citroen DS19 from which it had 'borrowed' a few ideas.
