The 16-105mm range of this lens is a sweet spot for many photographers; wide enough to capture scenery and interiors and long enough to reach distant subjects.

Great versatile lens can be used for almost anything from landscapes to portraits. To note -  it is APSC form factor, but will still work on full frame bodies.

A long since discontinued lens, it has become quite rare on the used market now.The Sony 500mm F/8 reflex lens is pretty sharp for the price.  While it will bring in distant objects like no other lens in this price range, you're going to trade off some of the convenience factor, which is one of the reasons you wanted this lens in the first place.
It has it's uses but you need to know when to use it.

Fantastic zoom lens, very sharp and focuses well. I would recommend a tripod for extended use as it is quite heavy but I have managed several days handheld with it.

Handy piece of kit, it is manual focus only. It can only be used on 5 A mount lenses, the rest will not fit. These are the: SAL500F40G, SAL300F28G2, SAL70400G2, SAL70200G2, SAL135F28.
I have the SAL70400G2 available for rent with this if you want to try out a great zoom combination.
