I asked the owner few days before the actual rental if the camera was available for me to use on the 11th since I had a podcast client that day and he confirmed that it was. I then messaged him on the 10th and told him that I will be fully booking the mics and will need to collect them that same day. He confirmed the rental around 12:40pm without sending any messages. I thought it was cool as i booked him once before this. I called him around 5pm to see if I can pick up the mics around 8pm or 10pm (earlier was an option) and he told me that he will get back to me. Few hours later (7pm) he messages me saying that he is out of the city which is ridiculous. Why confirm the rental if you’re not currently in the city?! I ended up losing ££31 for nothing and then I had to quickly find an alternative. I then asked him if he could send my £25 back since I didn’t use the mics and he has been ignoring my messages till now lol. I was being nice about it honestly, didn’t even complain when he told me the news but thinking that you will be able to get away with it without no consequences is crazy. I feel like this was done on purpose as it doesn’t make sense why he accepted the rental if he was out of the city, he didn’t even provide a reason why he was.
