The Janome J3-24 sewing machine a front loading bobbin case and a convertible free-arm for circular sewing. Choose from 24 stitch options and a a fully automatic one step buttonhole. All models come fitted with an auto needle threader. The J3-24 has 24 stitch functions which are divided between decorative and utility stitches - many of which you are able to adjust the stitch length and width for fine control. You can straight stitch with the needle in either the central position, or move the needle over to the left hand side of the foot. This is useful for sewing piping or when you need to stitch close to the edge of the fabric. Zigzag stitching is widely used for overcasting and sewing on buttons. For finishing raw edges of fabric, the Janome J3-24 has a number of useful utility stitches. The overcasting stitch is used on the seam allowance to prevent the fabric from fraying on raw edges. For synthetic fabrics that tend to pucker, the tricot stitch can be used to prevent fraying and can also be used for mending tears or darning. This knit stitch is ideal for sewing swimwear and stretch velour because it provides the greatest amount of elasticity and strength. The straight stretch stitch is great for knit fabrics and curved trouser seams etc where you require a seam that does not tear easily. The stretch stitch does what it says on the tin - it sews two stitches forward and one stitch back to create a stretchable stitch. There are also great time saving features for button and zips. The J3-24 allows you to sew buttons directly onto the fabric and also sews button
