The receiver has external antennas, which are better for maintaining signal and avoiding interference/dropouts. The Beta 58 mics are better than the SM58 or PG58 mics as they reject feedback more effectively due to the supercardioid polar pattern. The mic operates within and slightly beyond 'channel 38', that is at 606 - 630 MHz. This is a 'shared' frequency range reserved for just radio microphones, so it's less likely to encounter interference. I have a Ofcom license to operate this equipment, which extends to you as the renter. You should not have to do anything other than plug the system in and turn it on for it to work.
