Regenerative braking: this is where the motor is being used to slow the bike down, it really does stop quickly! This reduces the wear and stress on the brakes, and it puts a tiny bit of the energy back into the battery.

3 points of shock absorption: with air suspension forks, a suspension seat and frame, combined with the fat tyres, it feels like a cloud compared to most bikes!

Folding: whilst I removed the folding bars and upgraded them to something a little more heavy duty, the frame itself folds to allow the bike to bit into smaller spaces.

KTLCD3 display: this is a display that really does allow you to see all the information you need to get the best experience out of the bike. You can use it to reduce power, limit the speed, set the cruise control, the list goes on.

The bike has a motion detection alarm, is supplied with a good lock and also comes with a disk brake lock/alarm so you can leave it outside a restaurant and know that someone can’t just jump on it and ride off,  However, due to the high value nature of the bike, leaving it unattended for any period of time isn’t advised. There are also lights, and you can use the bike to charge the lights or your phone!

Motor:
The Carrera Crossfire E is built around a fantastic Suntour Performance 36V rear hub electric motor system, seamlessly integrated into the rear wheel and providing 60NM of torque. The power control in the system is delivered courtesy of an intuitive cadence sensor, which will adjust the power output based on the users pedalling speed. When the users cadence increases then the system will increase the power output.

Display:
The electric motor of the Carrera Crossfire E 2021 is controlled via a Suntour TFT multifunctional colour display with separate handle bar remote. The TFT display allows you to choose from one of 4 assistance modes, eco, tour, sport and turbo, depending on the level of support you require. The unit also allows the user to view additional data whilst riding, such as speed, mileage, trip time and battery level. The display is located centrally, directly below the line of vision whilst riding, allowing you to keep your attention on the road ahead.
