damage you will have a strike. If you have three strikes to your name. For all future hires there will be a 5% surcharge and a cash holding deposit will be required to go towards loss/ damage. You would then immediately pay for any additional cost if needs be. Please remember YOU as the individual who makes the booking are responsible for loss, not the “gaffer” or “DOP” or other crew members. Therefore it is your best interest to ensure there is no loss. As for damaged kit, please report it immediately so I can inform other rentals and start a damage claim. I will now be introducing micro fines for people who must handle my kit, £10 for any fingermarks on lens glass. A minimum of £10 for kit that is loose and not protected in its container. 💴 HOLDING DEPOSIT * WE MAY Ask you for a cash holding deposit for first time rentals. 50-75% of first time rentals are likely to result in loss, damage, theft, late returns etc. If the rental is perfect, then you get 100% of the cash-back and you won’t need a holding deposit on the next rental. If a later rental has an issue, a holding deposit will be reinstated for the following rental. 👈🏻 RETURNING KIT * It is essential that you return kit in exactly the same way that you receive it, typically Hires have a high percentage of poorly packed away kit which can lead to loss and damage of equipment, please record the condition of the kit on arrival. Document it and take images as a packing away reference, if you follow my lead in how things are packed you are copying a perfect system which will eliminate loss and damage considerably. There is now a penalty / strike for poorly packed kit! It would be worth taking a brief moment to check the quality of the kit on return which could save you an expense in the future. Micro fines will be in place for sub standard rentals. I.e finger marks on lens optics. 👁️ KIT CHECK * You must now check the kit thoroughly on collection to ensure the exact kit is correct, present, along with all components. By leaving the premises you will be confirming that you are 100% satisfied that all the kit is present and correct. You will then take any responsibility for failing to check kit from here on. * If you aren’t collecting in person, this process can be done virtually with clear photographs. Which you will then confirm that all kit is present and correct, in writing, before it’s collected. There will be a £10 fine for missing items on return plus the cost of extending the item. ⏰ℹ️ LAST MINUTE REQUESTS * There is now an extra fee for last minute rental requests. If you are booking kit last minute and I have already started handovers. it’s very difficult to find the time to get kit ready, it’s also very stressful and I don’t have time to document the kit, this creates risk. Price depends on how busy I am and how big the request is. This includes requests at the door. 🤦🏻‍♂️ LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS * Not only frustrating, but we are almost certainly going to lose business to other rentals. There will now be a cancellation fee. Typically 30% of the rental cost within a 24 hour period of the start date. (7pm the day before) other platforms have a 40% fee with a 48hr period. So this is relatively generous. We will spend 2-5 hours a week preparing kit for rentals that don’t even collect! Once the kit has been collected. A cancellation cannot be made. And no refund will be given. 💴⬇️ MIN SPEND * There’s Typically a min spend of £50 (Rental fees! Excluded other charges or perishable materials) for bookings. This is to keep the volumes of hires to a more manageable level which will preserve quality of hires. It also reserves kit for larger bundles. There may be exceptions if the item is low in demand or if it’s something small that can be returned via my letter box therefore eliminating a potential face to face late return. 🚚 COURIER COLLECTION/ RETURN * There is now an extra £10 charge for courier collections and returns. It’s an added stress and effort dealing with a middle man. Sometimes I am unable to retrieve kit from a drop off at short notice. It can generally stall the process of hires. ⚠️NO UBER / BOLT COLLECTIONS or RETURNS! Addison Lee or other reputable courier companies only. 📸🗒️ KIT PREP (One of the reasons you should collect the kit the evening prior to shoot) 🪫 CHARGE BATTERIES * We may not have time or space to mass charge Batteries. You will be provided with plenty of charging accessories to do this your end over night before the shoot. If you’re collecting in the AM (Having arranged and paid for out of hours) then I will charge them up for you. 💾 FORMAT MEDIA * As above we won’t have time to format media, in some cases you may need to format the media to a specific source I.e Mac / Windows to read. It’s always best to format the media before use in the device you are using. 📟 FIRMWARE UPDATE * You will have unconditional permission to update any firmware required, this is usually system improvements and bug fixes. Please note, we won’t always be aware of new update arrivals, so please make sure the firmware is up-to-date for your requirements. 🤔 KNOW YOUR S**T! * It it’s your responsibility to understand what kit you need and to carry out a little research on the kit I provide. Ensure what I offer, is what you need and compatible with any kit you have. Don’t make assumptions. Remember I don’t know the details of your project or the specs of the kit you already have. I can make suggestions but your final decision is your responsibility. 💴⭐️ MINI FINES * These are things that you shouldn’t be doing. If you are doing, then shame on you. But don’t worry these small fines will help you out of the habit… * Finger Marks on Lens Glass £10 * Sloppy packing of kit, wrong places, unsafe arrangement £10 * Removing Filters from lenses. (All lenses with a filter thread will have a clear UV filter in place. £10 * Losing parts of kit £10 a charge to extend the item may also be applied. And / Or the cost of replacement. Of course you don’t have to pay these fines if you don’t wish to…. I also don’t have to rent the kit out to you again! 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️ LATE RETURN If the kit is returned late, it can harm a later rental. * If slightly late there is a small fine for inconvenience. * If very later, there will be a bigger fine to cover the cost of couriering the kit to the next client. * If the late return has an impact on the next rental, charges may apply to cover loss of earnings and refunds.
