Hive is a two-player tile game with simple rules about what the different types of tile do, leading to lots and lots of tactical options to ponder. It’s commonly enjoyed by kids as well as adults (the manufacturers recommend nine and up) and is a good one for both to play together. The tiles are a joy to handle, they’re chunky and clacky, and it comes in a bag that makes it great for travel.
