Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 AT-X PRO DX II Lens - Canon EF Mount

This compact ultra wide-angle zoom has a bright constant F2.8 aperture make viewing and auto focus possible in lower light situations but still maintaining a reasonable size and weight. 

Two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements and two aspheric glass allow the proprietary optical design to achieve excellent contrast and sharpness as well as controlling chromatic aberration. 

Tokina’s exclusive One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism allows the photographer to switch between AF and MF simply by snapping the focus ring forward for AF and back toward the lens mount for manual focusing. The lens is also designed to stand up to the rigors of daily use by photographers in a wide variety of shooting conditions and environments. 

Other than the optical coating change there are no changes to the Canon mount. The AT-X 116 PRO DX-II for Canon uses the same AF motor and AF drive system as the the previous model.

Canon EOS 600D DSLR

The 600D is fully featured with full HD video recording at 30/25/24fps, a high quality, high resolution screen that swivels to any angle, and simply looks gorgeous. Optical image stabilisation comes with the kit lens, and continuous shooting speed is quite decent at 3.7fps, slowing to 3fps when shooting RAW. Noise is very good, rarely visible until you start using ISO3200 and above. Live view focusing could be quicker, and put me off using the feature, which is a shame considering the swivel screen.



Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 VC XR Di II LD Aspherical IF

A revamped edition of Tamron’s original 17-50mm zoom for APS-C format cameras, the Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II VC adds VC (Vibration Compensation), while retaining the earlier version’s zoom range and constant f/2.8 aperture rating. The VC stabilisation system has an effectiveness equating to four stops, beating the three-stop stabiliser of Canon’s 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. The Tamron’s outright zoom range isn’t as large, losing 5mm at the long end, but on the plus side, the lens is a bit smaller than the Canon.
