Clear communication and kit in good condition 

Never use LENS LAB. 

I paid for camera hire and arranged a pick up time with Peter from Lens Lab. We arranged to meet at his office for pick up at 0930. After waiting around for 20 minutes I called Peter who finally answers saying 'oh I forgot I was meeting you' and 'I can't meet you for another 2 and a half hours' 

As a result I lost the job I was booked in for and also all future work with that customer who happened to be my best customer who I have been working with for 3 years.

LENS LAB was originally really quick to reply and the booking process went smoothly. At the time of picking up the lens, I stood in front of the lab/house for a solid 15min under the pouring rain, ringing them about 4/5 times before someone picked up, only to find out they had forgotten about me and were 15 miles away at home. I do appreciate that the owner apologised and tried their best to get to Brighton quickly and deliver the equipment to me (2 hours later), but the whole situation put me in a delicate position as I had rented this specific equipment for professional use and my client wasn't too happy about it. I am aware that when possible, you try to pick up renting equipment the day before to prevent that kind of thing from happening, but the previous day being a Sunday and me not living in Brighton made it impossible. The renter knew this as I had specifically explained the situation, so it's understandable that I ended up being a little disappointed overall. The lens was however in a really good state, and the rest of the day went smoothly, so I can't complain when it comes to that.

To be fair, the Probe lens itself probably has some uses. Not versatile enough for me, but that's by the by. I give a two star review because the communication was vague and a bit rude, and the box provided with the lens was not fit for purpose. I lost 30 minutes trying to get it open and when I pointed this out by messaging Lens Lab on Fat Llama the chap said yes, it is a bit 'jammy'. If he knew those ahead of time he should have warned me. Fortunately I was shooting something for fun but if I'd been using this in front of a client I'd have looked a right chump. You should not rent out kit you know I'd defectective - at the very least without letting the renter know ahead of time. Overall, poor at communication and unreliable.

Doesn't take much weight, if I'm honest. Was advised by Lens Lab it could hold an Ursa Mini. No way. It  managed a BMPCC, just about. Jolty though, and the footage was unusable. The controller is flimsy, amd badly designed. You have to keep turning it off and on again. As I say, I couldn't use anything I filmed on this.
