The Canon Speedlite 550EX is a powerful, high-output flash unit featuring ETTL (Evaluative-Through-The-Lens) autoflash control. It can be used as an on-camera Speedlite or as a master or slave unit in a wireless, multi-Speedlite system.

The new speed strap design allows you to easily and securely mount the Lightsphere to your flash. Once in place, you can rest assured that the Lightsphere® Collapsible™ will stay securely in place, offering an equally tight fit for nearly all flash sizes.

The translucent horizontal rings provide soft, even illumination with a minimum loss of power and its collapsible design allows you to fold it flat for easy storage.

Adding the (included) WhiteDome to your Lightsphere will allow you to shoot in situations with a low ceiling where you require less bounce as well as when shooting with the flash pointing directly ahead, you’ll have a beautiful soft shoot through diffuser.

Further development of Canon's flagship Speedlite has led to the production of the 580 EX II. This is the premier Speedlite for all photographers, including professionals. Newly designed to match with the EOS-1D Mark III in terms of improved dust- and water-resistance, body strength, and the ability to control flash functions and settings from the camera menu (EOS-1D Mark III only). Other features include improved communication reliability through its direct contacts, and recycling time is both 20% shorter than the 580EX and is completely inaudible.

S1 Mode:
In this mode,DF-400 will trigger flash with the main speedlight first flash,the effect is the same as using radio trigger.When using this mode,your main speedlight should be set to manual flash mode,using neither TTL flash system nor red-eye removal function which caused multiple flash.

S2 Mode:
S2 mode is similar to S1 mode and is also known as “preflashing cancel mode”,but it can ignore the preflashing from TTL,so you can use it to support the main speedlight that working in TTL mode.In particular,if S1 mode is unable to synchronously flash with your built-in speedlight,you can try to use S2 mode
