I rented this Shure MV88 mic to film some interviews on an iPhone, recording with FilmicPro (£15 on the App Store). Must showed up on time on both occasions, and he was very helpful, happily answering the few questions I had. The mic itself was great for indoor & outdoor use. There's a free app to download – MOTIV Audio – which lets you adjust the mic's settings. I found that 18db worked great everywhere I was recording, with FilmicPro's three audio settings on (1) Shure MV88; (2) PCM; (3) 24.0 kHz. One thing I would suggest is that you should specify if you want the fluffy 'dead cat' wind cover before you collect, as only the foam cover comes in the (very small and transportable) box that contains the mic – but Must readily popped back to get it for me when I asked for it (nicely!). All in all, this was an ideal rental experience which I would thoroughly recommend.
